Enabling use of ActiveX control:



The following instructions apply to a page that displays the messages listed below.
(On which communications between Comet and the browser takes place). 

If the Information Bar (the light-yellow bar near the top of the browser) displays this message:

"Your security settings do not allow Web sites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer. This page may not display correctly. Click here for options…"

And/or the page also displays the following message (in red):

Please install the ActiveX control, to enable the USB communication between your Comet and your browser.

Then switch back to the window of that page and:

  1. From the Tools menu Click "Internet Options…"
  2. Click on the "Security" tab
  3. Click on the "Custom Level…" button
  4. Scroll down to the item named "Download signed ActiveX controls" and change its radio-button from "Disable" to "Prompt" (or verify that it is already set to "Prompt")
  5. Click OK.
  6. If a message box appears with the message:
    "Are you sure you want to change the security settings for this zone?" then click OK.
  7. Click OK again.
  8. Click on the Refresh button of the browser.  
  9. If a message box appears with the message:
    "The page cannot be refreshed… view" then click Retry.

  10. Click on the Information Bar (the light-yellow bar near the top of the browser), and then click on "Install ActiveX Control…"
  11. Wait a few seconds and then verify that the previously displayed message (in red)
    Please install the ActiveX control, to enable the USB communication...

    has now disappeared.
  12. You are now done with enabling use of ActiveX control.

 

 

These all procedures are done only once.

 

To verify that enabling use of ActiveX control went OK, please return back or navigate to the page titled 'Load Money to Comet via USB', and click on the button called:

"Click here to connect to my Comet".

The response should be:

Serial Num: xxxxxxxx (If Comet is connected by a USB cable to your PC)

OR

Error: Comet Connection - FAILED (If Comet is NOT connected by a USB cable to your PC)

These are all OK, signifying software install is OK.
